Teens have the potential to start a great career and earn a lot of money by becoming a teen TV, film or soap star, even while in high school.
Has anyone ever told you that you have a natural talent for performance and are you a teenager? If you can follow directions well and you also have a unique look and huge personality you may just fit right in with being a teen actor or actress. This could be the career of your dreams and put you on the big screen, TV or even have you on stage with the proper dedication and training. If you are interested in acting, the time to start your career is now as a teenager.
The actors that you see now that are very successful more than likely got to be that successful because they started their careers during their teenage years. Opportunity for teen actors is endless and tend to be the most commonly cast roles in the acting field today. Teens in acting have shown time and time again that they are very versatile. Especially since you can cast a sixteen year old for the part of a thirteen old or even a twenty year old. Though on the opposite spectrum it can be much more difficult to cast a twenty year old as a thirteen year old.
Starting out in the field of acting you should first get yourself a good agent right away. Having an agent will help land your auditions, especially since agents know what roles are being offered for film, theatre and commercials in your area. They will submit your headshots and resume if they see that you fit an upcoming role. Then the casting director will see if they like what they see and they will contact your agent to set up any auditions.
Go with a smaller agency if you are just starting out because then they can grow with you too and they will be able to focus on you and your needs as a beginning actor more. They can also help with preparing you for your first audition because being prepared before you arrive at that audition is very important. You should have confidence in your abilities and be able to act professional as well. Each audition you go to is your chance to impress. You will be able to put your best foot forward with each audition; with the help of your acting coach and training. When you take acting classes with peers this also will help you hone your natural talents and even learn new ones to help you shine when you go on set.
On your part, you can make your dreams a reality as long as you have the proper training and dedication to your own success. This means taking classes, going to auditions and a lot of patience. Sprinkle in fun too, because if this is not fun for you it will be a difficult path to take and may not be the career for you. Your heart and dedication make the career not fame and fortune.
